I took my car to the auto doc because it seemed like a "mom and pop" kind of business and figured they would be a little more reasonable cost wise than other mechanic shops in Montrose. WRONG. My car needed new struts, mounts, and sway bar links and rear shocks, mounts and sway bar links, which is what I expected. What I didn't expect was an estimate of over $2,000! That's insane! I took my car to another mechanic shop and they charged me $687.00 (parts and labor included)!!!!!! That's a pretty significant price difference for the same exact repairs. However I will say that the owner is very nice and they have excellent customer service. Some people just want their cars fixed and don't care how much it costs, but I don't have that kind of money. CUSTOMER SERVICE- 5 STARS COST- 1 STAR
Emily, I really appreciate that you thought I was a really nice guy but was concerned about your thoughts on our pricing, so I did a little research. I did find that the parts for the job we proposed to do on your Nissan cost more than what you said another shop quoted you for parts and labor. I`m not sure if they sold you everything that we were proposing to do but I don`t see how it could be possible for the job to be this low. Even with bargain priced parts, which we never use, the job would be much more than 687.00. I compared 2 other shops with our quote of 1850.00, not over 2000.00 as you stated. We were #2 on price and #1 on length of warranty. I really hopes this explains my point and am sorry you were disappointed. I hope your bargain job lasts as long as our 2 year/ 24,000 mile warranty would. Thanks for your response. I always want people to let us know how we`re doing. Owner/Dave
